


Wow, if only we had the trigger technology to assign all those articulations naturally! I think I'm talking myself into spending the money sooner rather than later. Hopefully this is the new standard - is not possible to ride on crash cymbals in SD2 and pre-SD3 SDXs. Also, it looks like they have once again included the ability to ride on every crash as should be the case. I count 18 cymbals (including 4 sets of hi-hats) with various articulations. The cymbals are all either very good or, mostly, great. I'm not a fan of the sounds on the 70s kits, and probably don't have much use for the 80s kit (though having Jeff Porcaro's snare and Steve Ferrone's kit is hard to resist). Luckily I've still not explored all the possibilities of the base kits in SD3 (I'm still finding it difficult to get past the Ayotte toms), and I still have to go back through my existing SDXs (from SD2) on SD3 - every time I dip into them I'm rewarded all over again. I can't wait to get this, though I'm going to have to wait a fair while probably.
